A12 your post that you made that this thread is about, you know the one, the one in which you posted a link to another site in which you let someone regurgitate some talking point or another in which you offered no personal opinion other that to call people names in the title is no better that Mustanger's democratic underground hit and run posts!!! The very thing I complained about Mustangers posts you did yourself! You and Mustanger are two peas in a pod, other than you regurgitate conservative doctrine and he liberal doctrin. the only possible other difference you two have is you may admit to your doctrine whereas he denies his.

Elderban is right, this site had deteriated and in my conversation with Damo I have admitted fault, we used to have open dialog and debate, but instead I have allowed name-calling and childish banter to continue. If you see yourself in that comment, great, maybe there is hope, if not you need to grow up some more before coming back to play with the big boys. This site is not politically correct nor will it ever be, but it is not for children who cannot for a thought of their own.

A12 your post in which you bash this site is the most thought out post you have made in a long time. You of course are wrong, but are you man enough to see it?

Hamp,
I decided several months go to not post any more here but my curiosity made me peek in once in a while. I decided to log in and post the last time primarily to wish Damien and the people of Australia well in their battle against the flooding. While i was here I posted a factual story from the Associated Press not some "democratic underground" about the stock market and my opinion that it was good news. Anyone was welcome to disagree and you and elderban did. No harm no foul. But what you have said above really surprises me a bit. I have always through our disagreements considered you a friend but see you hold me in such low regard that you don't consider me one. I too am walking away but felt the need to answer the character assassination above before leaving. This will be my last post here. So you and the real trolls can enjoy what you have turned this into.

Always sad when these severe weather events hit. Glad you are on high ground Damien.

My best to all the people there.

In Topic: Gun Control Rant

God bless the President and people like Joe Scarborough that are stepping up now on this issue.

Quote

Here's Joe Scarborough's Stirring Soliloquy On Gun Control
-------------------------------------------------
Some excerpts of his address below:
"From this day forward, nothing can ever be the same again. We've said this before after Columbine, after Arizona, after Aurora, after so many other numbing hours of murder and massacre. But let this be our true landmark: Let Newtown be the hour after which, in the words of the New Testament, we did all we could do to make all things new. Politicians can no longer be allowed to defend the status quo. They must instead be forced to defend our children. Parents can no longer take "no" for an answer from Washington when the topic turns to protecting our children. [...]
"Though entrenched special interests are going to try to muddy the cause in the coming days, the cause of this sickening mass shooting — like the others — is no longer a mystery to common-sense Americans. And blessedly, there are more common-sense Americans than there are special interests, even if it doesn't always seem that way.
"I say, good luck to the gun lobbyist. Good luck to the Hollywood lawyer who tries to blunt the righteous anger of millions of parents, by hiding behind twisted readings of our Bill of Rights. ... But perhaps, just perhaps, now is the time they start obsessing on how to stop the next attack on a movie theater, or on a shopping mall, or on a college campus, or in our children's first grade classes. The battle we now must fight, the battle we have to win, is for the safety and the sanity of your children and mine. That is a war at home that we must win. [...]
"You know me. I am a conservative Republican who received the NRA's highest ratings over four terms in Congress. I saw this debate over guns as a powerful symbolic struggle between individual rights and government control. And you know what? In the years after Waco and Ruby Ridge, the symbolism of that debate seemed even more powerful to me. But the symbols of that ideological struggle — they've been shattered by the harvest zone from violent, mind-numbing video games and gruesome Hollywood movies that dangerously desensitize those who struggle with mental-health challenges. And then add in military-styled weapons and high-capacity magazines to that equation, and tragedy can never be too far behind. I've always taken a libertarian's approach to Hollywood's First Amendment rights and gun collectors' Second Amendment rights. I stood by those libertarian beliefs [...]

Now go ahead an knock yourselves out attacking me, the President, Scarborough, and anyone else trying to find some common sense ways to make it less likely that things like this will continue to happen. I would expect nothing less here and I really don't care any more.

Now this is bcoming pathetic.

once again, you stray into lies to try to make your point.

where in my post did i say "national" park? i did not. In fact, i emphasised "local" park, so to make sure your lie had the ring of authenticity to it, you had to stress "national" park, twice in fact.
I never said those words.
but, keep digging.

HUH??? From your original post and I quote:

Quote

The National Park service, run by the US Dept of the interior, advises us "Please do not feed the animals".

Trying to twist facts and denying what you actually said when it is still on the page is pretty pathetic.

And refusing to listen to someone with firsthand knowledge that you can't possibly have is too!
