So, the bossman wanted me to go to the flea market this weekend to hand out free passes for our business.
The location of our booth was one that would make it seem like it was an information booth, so we had a lot of people asking where to find things.
This one guy comes up to the booth and says "Where do I go for get tires?"
I respond with "Tires? There's a place that sells them out front"
He says "No. Get tires!"
And I respond with "Yes, the place out by 19 [the main stretch of road] sells them."
He says "No. Get tires. The things you play!"
"Ohhhh....Guitars!"
I swear. This really happened.

Dairy industry seeks to add low calorie sweeteners to school milk

With the government's desire for children to be fed healthy food and drinks while at school, some schools have cut back on serving flavored milk. With the lowest level of sales since 1984, the milk industry is trying to find ways to stay competitive in a market where sports drinks and bottled water have taken the place of milk. The National Milk Producers Federation (NMPF) and the International Dairy Foods Association (IDFA) is asking the Food & Drug Administration for permission to use aspartame and other artificial sweeteners to sweeten flavored milk sold in the U.S.
On February 26, the Huffington Post reported that the dairy industry wants to add these artificial sweeteners without adhering to certain front-label disclosures, in order to keep the product attractive to the target consumer—school children. These front label disclosures would include phrases like "reduced calorie" or "reduced sugar" the kind of thing kids might scrunch their noses at.

Artificial sweeteners in milk? Seriously?? It's bad enough our kids are being filled with artificial hormones from the milk, I don't think they need cancer-inducing sweeteners as well.
Corporations considered "armed forces" when serving as military contractors

Halliburton Co. (HAL) and KBR Inc. are entitled to the same legal protection as U.S. armed forces when serving as military contractors, a judge ruled, dismissing claims over so-called burn pits in Iraq and Afghanistan.
U.S. District Judge Roger Titus threw out 57 consolidated lawsuits against the companies brought mainly by military personnel who claim they suffered damaging health effects from exposure to the contractors’ pits, where items including medical waste, paints and pesticides are burned in war zones.
“The critical interests of the United States could be compromised if military contractors were left ‘holding the bag’ for claims made by military and other personnel that could not be made against the military itself,” Titus said in a decision released yesterday in Greenbelt, Maryland.
The remedy for the allegedly injured service members is through military and legislative processes, not the courts, Titus said.

So corporations have now been given a free ticket to do anything they want during "war" which, considering were are perpetually always at war with someone somewhere, is anytime.
