but so many people have a serious problem with that....
I am getting lectured left, right and centre about how it is allegedly 'healthy' for me to go out...
Here is the thing, and before replying, pay very close attention:
I do go out 1-2 times a month, any more and I will feel overwhelmed...i.e. unhappy
I have done the whole go out a lot thing, and the thing is I hated it
I do not drink and have no time for drunks.
But the main thing is - I know what makes me happy - and that is study, travel, internet and movies.
People are going to have to accept this. End. Of. Story.
If anyone has a problem with it, they can go hump a landmine - it is 100% my decision and 0% theirs... I do not give a shit about their opinion of it etc.
Why can't people just simply accept me exactly as i am, and not who they want me to be?
.
I like to study

The main thing is that you're doing what you like to do not what people are telling you to do.
At least you can back come at them with the information you have studied and you have more useful information about the world around you that they don't ...

I often find that I become a social outcast because of this - nowadays i am more than happy with that, as it often means I get left alone, and I do not give two shits about any one's 'opinion' of me.
And before anyone tries it, I have heard many arguments - many repeated - they do not work on me.
And yes, before some ask - as has been asked of me before "how will i find a lady?" - you'd be surprised how many women have a similar lifestyle.

You sound pretty much like my brother as far as "going out". On the other hand, I was the "party animal" and I'm not sure I really enjoyed it all that much...I just did it cause that was what everyone else my age and in my area was doing.
I would most likely have been MUCH better off studying, but I can't change the past.
Since we can't please everyone, please yourself first....cause if you aren't happy that will show in more ways than one & will eventually harm you in many, many ways...health being a major way!

I agree with you...I used to have a very active social life and always felt worn out
now I do what "I" want when I want it and don't have to worry about anyone elses opinions

Damien, I'm with you on this- I have zero if any social life and I'm just fine with this. For one thing I can't afford the financial expense. I have 1 friend that I 'go Dutch' with and throw her a couple bucks for gas.
With other people it's a matter of considering the source. It's like- telling an introvert to become an extrovert; Force a left handed person to work and write with their right hand (because left in Latin is sinestra (spelling?) which is rooted in the word sinister which equates to evil) Try convincing a cat hater he or she needs to get a cat; tell some one 'don't knock it before you try it.' ... And I could go on.
These are concepts that we carry in us because of 'society'- the peer pressure, stigmas, and societal beliefs.
My life is a walking testament to the insanity of these things- and to this day I am a LEFTY!!! LOL
So, rest assured Damien- you are not alone in this.
BTW- Some classmates and I were discussing course papers- or the fact that our Western Civ instructor boasted that he did not include them in his syllabus. Some talked about how 'relieved' they were because of this. I was the oddball and received weird looks and was called 'nuts and crazy' because I confessed that I actually enjoy research papers.
I love being a student, formal academics sans the math. One thing that I have discovered about myself is that research papers are among the best methods for me to learn. And I retain the knowledge better.
So with that my friend just consider the source.

glad to hear that I am not the only lefty who has had such problems arise...
I also recently was diagnosed as being "bipolar" so now I have a whole new set of peramiters that I have to work on...really don't need "others" interfering with that....
So That is why I really agree with you Damien.....
*by the way I know my opinion doesn't matter but am realy liking the new look for you!!!*
