One year into our Saviour’s administration a large number of key democrats are deserting his agenda. Now there can be only two reasonable reasons for this desertion or the man who was going to save this country from evil capitalism.

Reason One.

Democrats in congress and other key positions realize that in order to bring in the communist utopia that they have clamored for, and Obama promised, they would have to give up earmark monies that often find its way into the pockets of our elected officials. This means that Obama has let it be known that no special favors, class system, earmarks and other perks will be tolerated under his administration. All Americans are equal under the law and no exceptions will be made.

This will include the ‘for life’ pension plan, special healthcare, congressional credit cards that do not need to be paid back and that is not to mention money for pet projects in each of the states represented by these congressmen and women. It is these pet projects that are really getting hit, as these are the things that get our representatives noticed in their districts.

Some examples of democrats jumping ship because of this kind of action from the white house are aDemocratic Senate candidate in Missouri denouncing the budget's sky-high deficit. A Florida Democrat whose district includes the Kennedy Space Center hit the roof over NASA budget cuts. And an endangered Senate Democrat denounced proposed cuts in farm subsidies.

Could it be that these democrats see Obama’s benevolent budget cuts as doom and gloom to their personal futures…..or…….

Reason 2

The American people have been awakened in a very startling fashion and Democrats are surprised that they American people do not want to be placed under the thumb of communism. The American people have told these representatives that if they follow Obama’s folly they will soon find themselves out of a job. The American people have sent this message loud and clear in Massachusetts where the democrats have lost a seat that could only be held by a democrat.

Democrats have realized that Obama’s Utopia is nothing but a farce and will not be tolerated by the American people. They know all too well that even those who voted for Obama are now apologizing to the rest of America for placing this countries future at risk.

So instead of following their principles they are retreating out of fear, for their lives and future.

Of course I totally disagree with the statement that Obama has promised or is trying to create a "communist utopia".
I believe he is trying to deal with too many things at once but then so many of these major crises can't be put off. The healthcare reform though needed could and should have been put off until later after the economy stabilizes.
I believe you are right as to why some are deserting him:

This would bring about a fair, ethical, and fiscally responsible government if accomplished and that would be very bad for these pork loving Congressmen and women. That would be good for the rest of us and a reason to strongly support President Obama. I don't think he is quite that ambitious though and knows that he can't do away with all the perks and pensions that Congress has given themselves since they make the laws not the President. He can stop all the pork being attached to spending bills if he would start vetoing any bill that has any attached. That he has promised and so far has not done. I hope he will start doing this but it will be painful for many if he does because they attach these to pressing spending bills that if vetoed might delay getting food or ammunition to our troops or needed medical help to seniors for example. Congress is the big problem and if we voted out all these multi-term jerks as we have the ability to do we could make changes ourselves.

Um that was tongue in cheek, Obama has let it be known that he does not want to play anything but partisan politics. It would be good for the country but Obama wants nothing to do with what is good for the country, look at the crap he is trying to push through when the country as a whole wants nothing to do with it.

I voted for Obama! I won't apolgize for it...he was the lesser of 2 evils. Since we pretty much have a 2 party system one of them will win. I just couldn't see McCain leading anything and I don't trust Palin!!!

I don't agree with a lot of things Obama has done or is trying to do but I don't see anyone in the wings with any better ideas at present.

Tanger is right...we need to vote out every Congress person...only thing is they will get a pension whether they are there or not! Some how, some way we need to put a stop to the pensions, their special health care & a bunch of other perks they enjoy!

I thought that the "Tea Party" might be a beginning but it turns out most of them are trying to Palin to run!!! NO, NO, NO!!!!!!!!! That woman scares me worse than Obama!!!!
